HUMANITARIAN organisation Mercy Relief is trying to raise $200,000 to help victims of armed conflict in Sri Lanka.
More than 170,000 people in the country, which has appealed for international humanitarian assistance, are displaced from their homes, traumatised, hungry or sick, the organisation's spokesman said.
Fighting has broken out between the country's armed forces and the Tamil Tiger rebels, while tens of thousands of civilians are trapped in the war zone. Read more ...
