On 01 July, a team of Government officials assessed sites in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar and Vavuniya to plan possible resettlement in the near future.
Japanese envoy for Peace Building, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sri Lanka, Yasushi Akashi, was in Sri Lanka this week to attend the Economic Summit. He also met with the President and senior Government officials to discuss humanitarian situation in Sri Lanka.
